Simply put, SAFe is a workflow and organisational pattern that allows the implemntation of lean-agile practices at an enterprise level. SAFe 1.0 was first developed in 2011 by Dean Leffinwell. The lastest versino, SAFe 5 was launched on 7th January 2020 added two new core Competences (Organisational Agility and Continuous Learning) of the Lean Enterprise that are critical to achieving and sustaining a competitive advantage in an increasingly digital age.
