Difference between software developers and software engineers

Many people say there's only a slight difference between software developers and software engineers because they're both involved in the designing and making of a programme but software engineers will focus on the design of the program and constantly change it to fit the client's needs but a software designer will focus solely on what software to implement and create the correct coding to meet the client's needs.
A software developer is required to follow a software development methodology with expertise in debugging and modifying a software programmes for the clients needs. They also should have excellent analytical skills which will constantly compare the needs with software compatibilities and be very detail orientated.
A software engineer is involved throughout the project, they firstly join the developers and business anaylsts to talk about the requirements for the software proposed and then they identify in the project what needs to be developed, how and when. They also choose the programming language they think is appropriate and develop the framework for the job. Software enginners use technical and scientific knowledge to implement the software and are often great with pattern design and automated systems.
